FAMOUS TEMPLES IN UDAIPUR
Udaipur is a beautiful city along with many historic forts and palaces. But many visitors don’t know that Udaipur has a number of temples and holy places which are the center of faith and devotion from many centuries till now. Thousands of pilgrims and devotees visited Udaipur every day to worship at these temples. The vibrant and marvelous historical foundation of the Mewar area uncovers that a large number of these temples were worked by the rulers of the Mewar line. All through history; the heads of Mewar had showcased a mix of strength and a most profound sense of being. These are a couple of renowned temples of Udaipur and their little stories behind their development. Here are some of the famous temples in Udaipur.
JAGDISH TEMPLE
KARNI MATA TEMPLE
Located on Machala hills, Karni Mata Temple is dedicated to Karni Mata – a Hindu female sage. Famously known as ‘Rat Temple’, this temple on heights provides a scenic view of Lake Pichola, Lake Palace, Sajangarh Fort, and Dudh Talai Park.
RANAKPUR TEMPLE
Ranakpur Temples are one of the five major pilgrimages for the Jain community. Located at the 95 km from Udaipur city, it can be easily accessible from Udaipur by bus. Known for intricate and magnificent architectural style, there are Chaumukha temple, Parsavanath temple, Amba Mata Temple, and Surya Temple inside the temple complex.
BOHRA GANESH JI TEMPLE
Located near Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Bohra Ganesh Ji Temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha who is worship in its standing idol form in the temple. Hundreds of devotees take blessings at Bohra Ganesh Ji Temple, especially on Wednesday.
RISHABHDEO TEMPLE
Rishabhdeo Temple a 15th-century temple and dedicated to Lord Rishabh Dev Ji, one of the ‘Trithankar’ of Jain religion. A major pilgrimage site for the Jain community, Rishabhdeo temple is located on Dhulev village at a distance of 65 km from Udaipur city.
NEEMACH MATA TEMPLE
Located on a small hilltop near Fateh Sagar Lake, Neemach Mata temple is worship as Vaishno Mata of Udaipur. As its origin belongs to a Neem tree, it is so-called as Neemach Mata, and as per the belief devotees who worship regularly at the temple never get skin ailments.
NATHDWARA TEMPLE
Nathdwara is a small town in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Situated at a distance of 48kms in the north-east of Udaipur, Nathdwara is sited on the right bank of Banas River. Nathdwara is famous for its 17th-century temple that is dedicated to Lord Shrinathji (Lord Krishna).

EKLING JI TEMPLE
Located at a village Jagat at a distance from 58 km of Udaipur city, Jagat Temple also famously called ‘Khajuraho of Rajasthan’ due to magnificent intricate carvings on the walls of the temple. Since this temple is dedicated to Goddess Ambika, Jagat Temple also is known by another name of the Ambika Mata Temple.
KANKROLI TEMPLE
Kankroli is a small town, located at a distance of 65 km from the city of Udaipur. Kankroli is mainly known for its temple, which is sited on the banks of renowned Rajsamand Lake. Kankroli Temple is popularly called as the temple of Dwarikadhish. Dwarikadhish is one of the names of Lord Krishna.
EKLING JI TEMPLE
Eklingji Temple is the center of faith and devotion of Lord Shiva devotees. Built by Bappa Nawal in 734 AD, Eklingji Temple is a very famous temple of Rajasthan. Located at Eklingji (Kailashpuri) town at a distance of 22 km from Udaipur.
